Greg went out to buy some
more boxes and to get a haircut. He called saying he had just been in an
accident. Some guy rear ended our rental car at a stoplight. Greg is fine and
the rental car isn’t in too bad of shape, but the other guys’ front end is
pretty messed up and he needed to be towed. He has insurance despite him
telling Greg “I have cash”. He was acting so nervous/excited when the police
were there that they searched his car. Greg said that if his car had been
drivable he probably would have hit and run.
We have finished all but
very last minute stuff for storage. We finally heard back from the shipping
company with a quote, now we just need to find out how soon they can pick it
up. Then, we can make our plane reservations and book a place to stay.
Not sure where the time
goes, but it seems all of these errands can while away a day. We still need to
get at least 5 passport pictures each to take with us, and get a couple more
sets of my fingerprints to take with us “just in case” the FBI rejects the last
ones we sent too.
Well, things are winding
down here. We finally got a pickup date for our items in storage. We meet them
tomorrow, May 6. We leave for Panama this Saturday. We have booked a villa in
Coronado (about an hour out of the city) that is very near the beach. They are
Las Bougainvilleas Villas, near Playa Serena in Coronado. www.panamamundo.com
We booked for 1 month, but
if we find it meets our needs we can stay longer until we find a place to stay
long term. We are staying in the Las Palmas villa.
It’s now Thursday night and
the pickup of our stuff at storage went well. All we need to do is some last
minute laundry tomorrow and finish a bit of packing. We are allowed 2 checked
pieces of luggage each on Copa.
The tropical storm is
causing some rain and has been windy all day. Since we got back from the
cruise, it’s been cloudy and or rainy every day.
I’ll post again after we get
settled in Panama!
Oh....I also have uploaded more pictures from the world cruise from Guam to Beijing. I am working on Hong Kong now!
