We checked out a lake that had reports of lots of birds. It
was really bad road to get there and ironically the only good part of the road
was the airstrip which we had to drive across to get to the lake. We entered the lake area and before we could proceed we had to get out and move a tree trunk off the "road". The lake had
quite a few cows in the deep grass. Not very many birds, but it was an interesting
stop.

Our first impression of Boquete since we were there 6 years
ago, was how much it had changed. Lots of traffic and many new stores, shops
and restaurants. Boquete Garden Inn was just as beautiful as we remembered. The
owners and staff are just terrific welcoming people. We stayed in the same room
as 6 years ago. We got unpacked and went to the 6:00 to 7:00 happy hour in
their bohio. (1 free drink is included each day)We met a family visiting from
Belgium and we chatted with them as well as the owner who remembered us from 6
years ago. We headed out to Big Daddy’s for dinner and the food was very good.
Tomorrow we have a birding hike scheduled with a bird guide.
