We continue to follow a Northerly course towards Guam. Early
in the morning we crossed the equator again. There will be another King Neptune
Ceremony for anyone who has never crossed the equator on a ship in 2 days.
It started out being a beautiful sunny day and I walked the
track for an hour after breakfast. Just as I came back to shower it started to
rain. So, the rest of the day was a bit grey even though it didn’t continue to
rain.
There was no bingo today for whatever reason. I know they
had some safety training that was mandatory for the workers and I think they
are short staffed with the loss of the usual dancers that can do all of the
games throughout the day.
At lunch, we were seated with 2 couples that we hadn’t met
yet. One couple said this was their 3rd World Cruise. We had quite a
few travel stories to tell each other. The other couple was from Arizona so we
had a lot to talk about with them.
Tonight was a formal night and we had a Captain’s Circle
party before dinner. We actually didn’t get our invitations and Jeff came up to
tell us he didn’t get one either and neither did Bob & Phyllis. Because we
were off the ship between Sydney and Cairns, they showed us as inactive so no
invite was generated. Oddly, our cruise cards worked to let us back on the
ship. Even more odd was that we did get the free wine tasting invite, just not
the one for the party. They gave us one when we asked. On or off the ship we are
still Elite……
After the party they don’t let you go in for the evening
show until after the room is cleared of the second seating people and they have
time to clean up. So, many of us stand in line to get good seats. Many waited
up to an hour. There are always a few people that just stand by the stairs and
then try to merge with the front of the line. Several people made sure they
didn’t get far.
The Production Show after dinner was “Talk of the Town” with
the new singers and dancers. It was another great show.
Two more sea days until Guam. Hopefully, I can get photos
finished tomorrow. The video that Greg is working on takes a lot of time and
internet minutes, so they are slow and may have to wait until we get back on
land after the cruise. We’ll see how it goes.
