Sea Day - February 24

Today we continued on various West-Northwesterly courses through the Pacific Ocean on our way to Taiwan.

I won $60 at Bingo today! That brings our total to $1,850. Leonard’s wife Allison won a game as well. The 4 of us sit together in our “lucky spots”. Ha ha….

We had lunch at the buffet today as it featured a Filipino station. Plus, they had a Mexican pizza that was pretty tasty as well. We ate with Leonard and Allison and Leonard did some magic card tricks for us.

I was reviewing our tour info for our over-land in China and noticed we didn’t have a pickup time at the pier in Hong Kong. I emailed our contact and asked what time our pickup was and she responded we didn’t have one set up. She said we could take a taxi. I asked if she could set up a transfer as we didn’t wish to take a taxi. She responded that they didn’t do that as the taxi charges by the hour. Last time we had transfers from the airport to the hotel and the next morning from the hotel to the ship after our over-land. We ran into Jeff & Julie and asked if they had a transfer set up as they and Karen & Steve are doing a different over-land, but we’re on the same flight to Xian. Jeff said they didn’t have a pickup time and double checked their itinerary to make sure they had one set up. We compared our itineraries and they definitely had a transfer included and we did not. He emailed to verify a time and to see if we could be added to their transfer to the airport. I emailed and asked why we could set one up last time and not this time. The agent had misunderstood that we wanted her to reserve a taxi, not a transfer. So, she set it up so the 6 of us can transfer together and we paid the balance by PayPal for our portion. Phew! Thanks to Jeff & Julie and Karen & Steve for inviting us to ride along to the airport.

The show tonight was the same comedian that we didn’t really care for. We watched the show, but it was still pretty bad. Lots of puns that just make you groan, but most people seemed to enjoy his show a lot more than we did. They are still short of new talent and tomorrow the ship’s pianist is doing a concert. David is very good, so that will be enjoyable. Not sure why they can’t organize a crew or passenger talent show as often is done on other ships. Especially since the couple of ports have been really messed up with performers not showing up for one reason or another.

Tonight, we got to set our clocks back another hour! Love getting those extra hours in our day/night.

2 more sea days until Taiwan!
