March 8, 2013 Sea Day

We are getting back to our sea day routines. Kind of windy and rainy out today, but warm. There was a lecture this afternoon on Guam which is our next port. At breakfast yesterday and today we got caught up with some cruise critic friends we hadn’t seen since we were gone. I was glad to see Hal & Nancy and both seem to be doing better and didn’t end their cruise in Sydney. Had a nice chat with Ken & Tom as well. I spent most of the day working on getting the blog up to date.

Had a good dinner and it is nice having Marianne at the table. Tonight’s show was a vocalist Donna Campbell that did a Dolly Parton Tribute. Very entertaining!
Back to the cabin to relax and catch up on the blog.
Just some random thoughts on our first trip to Australia:
We learned that a cry of “Aussie Aussie Aussie” gets a return chant of “Oy Oy Oy!”
In our short trip to the Land of  OZ we encountered some very diverse cultures and landscapes, from the beautiful Sydney Harbour and the vibrant city, to the lush and breathtaking Blue Mountains to the red sandstone dessert of Ayers Rock and then to the lush tropical area of Cairns. (pronounced roughly “Cans”) People are warm and helpful and friendly. Sydney is pretty expensive. Definitely need to visit more of Australia! We enjoyed every minute we spent there.
