This morning
around 8:20 we crossed the equator. Pretty sure I felt the “bump” as we crossed…lol.
Today has
been quite a day of wildlife spottings. Large pods of the small dark dolphins,
Brown Boobies and Masked Boobies fishing and lots of flying fish. There was a
passing shower today, but otherwise beautiful.
Today is our
7th day on board. Princess had a lovely Sunday Brunch. Lobster
claws, pastas, breads, spreads, sushi, smoked fish, meats and cheeses and more!
Of course there were lots of decadent deserts.
Greg is a
bit under the weather today. Hopefully, just a cold and not a flu.
I am still
working on pictures and I posted 2 taken at the Jaguar Sanctuary just to see
how they would look when posted. Seems to work fine, so will put a few more up.
I will post most on my Picasa web page. (if that becomes too time consuming, I
may need to wait and post more after we return home.)
This
afternoon we had the Symbolic Crossing the Equator Ceremony. King Neptune
passes sentences to the accused brought before him. Anyone who has not crossed
before are called pollywogs and you become a shellback once you have crossed
the equator. Most of the sentencing involves being covered in various foods and
drinks. Eggs, jello, cranberry juice, spaghetti, whipped cream etc. Jeff &
Julie from our CC group had to be blindfolded and feed each other ice cream. Of
course they smeared it everywhere. Then King Neptune decided the ice cream
needed chocolate sauce. They were a mess!
Tomorrow we
make port in Guayaquil. We have nothing organized planned here. We plan on
taking the ship’s shuttle to the Malecon 2000 area and just wandering and
stopping for lunch.
Tonight
Princess is having a Super Bowl party for those that he show tonight is the
singer/ventriloquist guy. He was enjoyable last time so will probably watch
that.
