This was our last Sunday Brunch of the cruise. They had a pretty mother’s day display and champagne or mimosas as you entered the dining room. Besides all the usual items, they had crab legs and broiled prawns. Just when you thought you had probably at least seen, if not met all the full world cruisers, we had lunch with a couple that neither of us had seen the other. Mike and Elizabeth joined the table as well. Delightful couple!
I packed
most of the morning and we went to the last bingo session of the cruise.
Neither of us won anything. After lunch I went to watch the Princess Pop Choir
perform. Carol our table mate and Jim a tour mate were amongst the members.
Always fun to watch.
The seas are
slightly rough today. We were all remarking at brunch how great the weather has
been and how calm the seas have been for this journey. Only 2 really crappy
days in port. The freezing cold and wind in Korea and the driving rain in
Hiroshima. Only slightly rough seas were in the Tasman Sea.
We have our
Farewell Captain’s Cocktail party tonight and it’s our last formal night of the
cruise. (Have you noticed how many times I have used the word “last” in this
entry?) We have Montenegro tomorrow and then a sea day before we disembark in
Venice.
The Farewell
party was very nice. Besides the cocktails and appetizers they put on a mini
production show by the Princess singers and dancers. Since we have become like
one big family since we began this journey in January, they sang and danced to “We
are Family”. Plus, the lead singers each did a song as well as Miranda. Very
nice touch. The captain and Peter the cruise director spoke and brought on most
of the staff for a round of applause.
Dinner was
extra special tonight as well. They presented all the ladies with carnations
and we all were handed fancy paper rolled up and tied with a ribbon that turned
out to be our menu for the evening. Greg’s caviar plate looked like a work of
art. My cheese soufflé was to die for. Shrimp appetizers were good too. Greg
had the duck and I had the twin lobster tails. Dessert was a work of art as
well. It was several types of mousse with dark chocolate on the top and bottom
with scrolls of chocolate on the top. Not only pretty, but very good to eat!
Tonight’s
show was The Celtic Tenors. I think I have seen them on TV and they have toured
the world and have 8 albums. Very good show tonight. It’s Jason’s birthday today and everyone sang
Happy Birthday to him. (Deputy Cruise Director)
We get to
set the clocks back tonight for that extra hour of sleep. Whoo Hoo! We’ll be up
at 5:30 to get ready as the sail in is supposed to be spectacular and we’ll
want to be up on deck watching after breakfast.
