There was a Tug of War competition for some of the
staff. What fun to watch. I laughed so hard. Our waiter Tommy was on Team Oscar,
so we were rooting for him. Rupesh, the casino guy for Bingo was on another
team. We rooted for him too, but they didn’t progress. After all of the various
departments competed, Team Oscar won! Oscar told us at dinner that he offered
an extra incentive to his team to win. The 5 of them would get 24 hours off
from work, a steak dinner at the Steakhouse and a bottle of wine. The prize
offered by the Cruise Director was a pizza party. So, besides the bragging
rights, they got a really good reward. Time off is probably what they cherish
the most, since the crew works 7 days a week for 9 months at a time with only
hours off between breakfast, lunch and dinner.

We didn’t win at Bingo today, but came really close.
Allison won the coverall and we are always happy when our “Bingo Buddies” win.
We ate in the dining room for lunch today and sat with
a couple we have met before and 2 sisters that we have never seen before and
they have been on since LA. It’s a small ship, hard to believe we haven’t seen
everyone by now.
Tonight’s show was Master Gauchos, Hilario &
Haley. They were quite entertaining with their Argentinian performance of
dance, whips and the balls.
Once again, the cruise director Sammi switched the shows
around so the early show was now the late show, so the early show was
overcrowded with early and late seating dining people that didn’t want to wait
until the later show. People chose their dining time to correspond with the earlier
show. Not sure why she is doing that. (and before a port day when we wanted to
finish the evening earlier not later.
We are very excited about visiting Ceuta, Spain
tomorrow!
