The Captain came on at 7:00 this morning letting us
know he had changed course a bit to get the storm behind us for a “smoother”
sail. We are having 12 to 15 foot waves and the wind is 30 to 40 knots. So, it
makes walking on the ship interesting. Outside decks are pretty much all closed
off.
Most all activities have been canceled due to rough
seas, except for lectures, cards, bingo or anything that can be done sitting.
We just had an announcement that tonight’s formal
night and Captains Circle party have been rescheduled until after Bermuda due
to rough seas. It was to be our last formal night of the cruise, but now we need
to wait to pack the formal wear.
We did go to Bingo and on the coverall Greg on my
right called Bingo and Allison on my left called Bingo. So, they each won
37.50, bringing our collective total to $2,578.00.
We ate upstairs at the buffet for lunch and then came
down to watch the movie Passengers. Since we had more time today we started to
pack. We had planned to start the day after Bermuda, but with the parties and
formal night now on those days, we thought we should get a jump on it.
At dinner tonight, the captain came on and said we
were going to change course again to get back on track to Bermuda. He said it
might be bumpier as he navigated the change.
The entertainment tonight was the comedian Dave Heenan
again, which we originally opted to skip since we doubted he found a sense of
humor since we saw him a couple of nights ago. (or we developed one like his) Since
we spent most of the day in the cabin we just wanted to get out. I think I
laughed twice. Many people seemed to enjoy his type of humor, but he’s a bit
too “Henny Youngman” for me. His jokes are just old and tired.
Tomorrow is supposed to be as bumpy as today, if not
more so. There is supposed to be the boat building contest tomorrow if the
weather allows it. We didn’t do one, but we know several people that did, so we
will go and cheer them on. There is also a crew talent show tomorrow night
which is always the highlight of any cruise.
One more Sea Day until Bermuda.
