Dad would have been 87 today. Normally, we would have tried
to set up a 3-way call with Scott & Sonya.
We went to lunch today at Gus's World Famous Fried Chicken.
It’s a hot chicken almost like in Nashville and the food was incredible. No
wonder there was a long waiting line to get in.
From there we took a 90 minute ride on a Paddlewheeler on
the Mississippi River. We did one in Memphis (but not on the Mississippi River)
and it was more enjoyable since it had a lunch and entertainment. This one was
just a history tour. It was nice and informative, but it would have been nice
to have lunch and a blues band or something. I knew what it was when I booked
it, so not complaining.
The song lyrics to Proud Mary have a line that says “But
I never saw the good side of the city
'Til I hitched a ride on a river boat queen” and it
really is a great view of the city.

In our last Park our phones had minimal service and the WIFI was all but nonexistent, so I got behind on the blog. We are in Louisiana now and have great internet and phone. Yeah!
Tomorrow, we are having a day off, sort of.....
