After
breakfast we headed up to deck 11 for some sun. Actually, we started a load of
laundry before breakfast and Greg finished the dryer load while I sunbathed. He
met me upstairs later. Nice breeze up top that really helps while tanning. Once
in a while we would go down to the pool to cool off. We skipped the dining room
for lunch today and opted for the French Bistro buffet. We showered and went to
the port lecture for Singapore.
Tonight’s
menu didn’t appeal to us that much so we made a reservation for Sabatini’s the
Italian specialty restaurant on the ship. They alternate which restaurant is
open between the Sterling Steakhouse or Sabatini’s.
Tonight’s
show is the first of 5 new production shows for the last part of the cruise.
It’s called Stardust.
Sabatini’s
was not a hit. The food was the worst we have ever had there. Calamari was
greasy and rubbery with little flavor. The crispy blue crabs were tasty though.
The pasta course was good as well. The lobster 3 ways was not good either. The
lobster risotto was the only thing I liked on the plate. The lobster was not
tasty and the bisque sauce was strong with sherry which over powered the dish.
Greg had chicken and I wasn’t crazy about that either. The desserts did not
appeal to us (which we knew in advance), so we left to go to the evening show
and we had saved some of the wonderful chocolate cake from lunch to have in the
cabin after the show.
The production show was fantastic! Lots of songs from the 30’s
to the 50’s. I like this group of singers and dancers even better than the last
group that disembarked in Hong Kong.
For the first time this cruise we lost an hour of sleep
tonight. We are now back to being 12 hours ahead of EST (and daylight saving
time).
One more sea day before 4 ports in a row!
