Devil’s Lake State Park – Day 2 - Baraboo, Wisconsin

July 6

Today’s trails were more normal hiking. (not the rock climbing like before) We walked almost 5 miles, but it took way less time due to the terrain. We did see and hear quite a few birds. A few of them even showed themselves for some photos.
 Red-winged Blackbird - female

Hooded Warbler - female

 White-breasted Gnatcatcher

Bright Green Sphinx Moth Caterpillar with large brown eye spot

 Song Sparrow

Common Yellowthroat

For lunch we went back to Mac’s Mac & Cheese to try different flavors. We both got the Carnitas Mac & Cheese. It was good, but we both preferred our choices last time.

Tomorrow, we plan a half day of birding in the Pine Island Wildlife Area.
