Sea Day – February 21

Sea Day – February 21

I walked the track and it was quite bumpy due to the Cyclone. This is the worst we should get from it since it is heading away from us.

We had lunch upstairs since it was an Oriental buffet.

Today Greg won the $30 Bingo and split it with one other person. Then, I won a $40 Bingo. Then Greg won the $50 Bingo and had to split that with one other person. So, a total of $75 for us today.

Tonight was another formal night to “meet the Captain” for the new people on board and actually JP is a new Captain that started in Sydney. We had him in 2017 and he’s a fun captain.

His first announcement was quite funny. He came on and told us about the storm and entering the Great Barrier Reef around noon today. Then, 2 minutes later, he came back on to say he forgot to mention that everyone needs to take care moving about the ship due to the waves. Then, he came back on again to say that yes, we enter the waters of the Great Barrier Reef, but we will not arrive in Cairns tomorrow, as he mistakenly said, but the day after as scheduled. (he just misspoke) He joked that we could tell he was jet lagged.

The show tonight was Peter Byrne and he did a Neil Diamond tribute. He also tossed in some Johnny Cash a couple of others. Very fun show.

The evening trivia was Who Sang What in the 80’s. We won! So, we have another botte of champagne chilling to make some mimosas with. Once again, we beat out teams of 6 and Greg was quick to point out to the crowd that all he did was write down what I said. (he did get one artist that I didn’t know)

One more sea day until Cairns.
