Davis Lakes RV Camping Resort - Suffolk, VA

Wednesday the 27th we moved to Davis Lakes RV Resort in Suffolk, Virginia. We had a warm sunny day, but high winds (around 30 mph or so) which makes the RV shudder and I'm sure harder to keep it between the lines. Add in the passing trucks and it really makes it "interesting".

This park is large and has several lakes. We haven't explored the area yet, so we have only seen one of them. It's wooded and the spaces are large and far apart. There are some cabins here and we have one right next to us.

With all the trees here our DISH doesn't work, but they have cable which works fine. I watch most TV from the web anyway, but for the local news/weather and regular channels the cable works fine. The water in the last place tasted OK, but often came out yellow or brown. Here, it's fine except it's super soft and just feels slippery.

Like the last place they have an odd speed limit. Here it's 7.5 mph. not 7, not 8, but 7.5.

We were both in need of haircuts as we just kept putting it off, so after we got set off we went in search of a place to get that done. I needed color so it took longer than usual and it was dinner time by the time we got done Greg had found a Thai restaurant in the strip center. No photos and I don't even remember the name, but it was tasty Thai food. I had Yellow Curry Chicken and Greg had Green Curry Chicken. YUM! OK, not as good as on the beach at Phi Phi Island in Thailand. (right Rick & Janie? I still remember that yummy lunch)

Tomorrow we are off to the Virginia Beach area to do some birding at Back Bay National Wildlife Refuge.

  1. Yeah, I remember! That was the best. Janie and I always order green curry too. One of our favorites.
