A Stone's Throw RV Park - Lamont, Florida

Oct 4

We left an hour earlier today since the Florida Panhandle is in a different time zone and the RV Park we were headed to is only manned until 3:00. It basically is a “self-serve” Park. We are staying near Tallahassee for 3 days. We have not seen anyone work here yet, though of course someone does.
We had a sunny drive today. That is always better than pouring rain when driving this thing.

"Blue Angel" at a rest stop - as we drove by

The park is small, only 20 sites. Basically, just a parking lot and it took 3 tries to get the coach level. (moving pads under rear wheels to get it to work) It serves the purpose for our short stay here. The sites are long here which is good and for most they just spend the night and move on. Since you can walk to a mini mart and a couple different fast food places, those that don't want to unhook their towed car, they can just leave it attached and easily head out. Most days we have been here alone after the overnighters leave and before the next group arrives. It does almost fill up.

We went for our walk and had to cross the highway to have any length at all for a decent walk. The name of the RV Park is A Stone’s Throw RV Park. I think it’s because you can throw a rock from one end to the other. (I’m sure the real reason is that it is close to Tallahassee) We visited the Capitol on our last visit when we started our adventure this year, so no need to go there this time.

our spot
Here you can reserve a spot and they put a cone in the space. If you don't have reservations you can park anywhere that doesn't have a cone in it.

We don’t have much planned other than birding in hopes of finding that darned Red-cockaded Woodpecker. They have been reported, so will check it out. We birded here last time, but never found one. Maybe this time……
It will take me a while to get through the birding pics, so be patient my faithful readers. I'll do my best.
