Sea Day - March 11

After we left Phuket we continued to follow various West-south-westerly courses through the Indian ocean towards Cochin.
 dolphins? or whales?

After breakfast, we had a Pirate Drill in preparation for being in this part of the world. Broadcasts were made to crew and passengers for anti-piracy protocols. Participation was mandatory for everyone on board and we were required to return to our staterooms and stay in there with the drapes closed and to be away from the windows and open the door to the cabin to be accounted for by the cabin steward. All passenger services were suspended during the drill. The ship has been equipped with fire hoses for protection and sound in the unlikely event of an attack. Most pirates are looking for easy cash, not dealing with lots of passengers, but it is a required drill.
After the pirate drill we went to Bingo. I won the first game, but had to share it with another passenger. (we split $30.00) This particular passenger on our last bingo session, was playing for the first time and he missed winning the cover-all by himself as he didn’t realize he had a bingo. Then, at least 2 or 3 other people got bingos. They all had to split the $80 that he should have won by himself. He didn’t seem to understand that he couldn’t have all the money. The Bingo caller said if you had called Bingo before all the others before their number was called he would have. He said jokingly said next time sleep on your own time, not at Bingo”. We had a good laugh, but I don’t think he understood what had happened. Then another woman got a bingo on the number that was displayed, but not called yet. So, they all got to share in the pot. Anyway, today he not only split the first game with me, but he won 1 more and one was the coverall at the end. I guess he learned how to play! He and his wife are watching the one card.

Lunch was shared with people we have met already on this cruise and everyone exchanged stories of their excursions in Thailand and then that morphed into past travel experiences.
Tommy, our waiter showed us photos of he and his wife of her visit. He was so proud and happy and of course he couldn’t wipe the smile off his face. He is a super waiter and his assistant Rolando is wonderful as well. They both spoil us.

The show tonight was another production number called Can’t Stop the Music. They were missing one of the male dancers due to a medical issue and he will leave the ship in Dubai and be replaced with another one. The show didn’t suffer being one down.
We skipped the Game Show again, in hopes of getting caught up on pictures. Picasa seems to be working again, so I have uploaded Papua New Guinea (separate albums for land and snorkel) and Guam. I’m almost done organizing Taiwan, so I’m still pretty far behind.

Tomorrow we have a Sunday Brunch with Indian Food as the theme. YUM!!!
2 more Sea Days until India! Oh, and we get an extra hour of sleep again as we set the clocks another hour back! Whoo Hoo!
