Well, normally I use the information from the daily Patter
to let you know the ships’ course and what bodies of water we are sailing
through, but with the new Cruise Director the Patter has been completely
rearranged. They no longer include that information. There is a lot of white
space and things just spread out on the cover and the print inside with the
schedule has gone so small that many of us can’t read it even with the reading
glasses. Of course, we are told it was a fleet-wide corporate decision to make
these changes.
Greg won $55 at Bingo bringing our collective total to $2,145.
Whoo Hoo!
The lunch theme was Asian at the buffet, so we skipped the
dining room today so Greg could get his sushi. I enjoyed the Spring Rolls.
Sammi, the new Cruise Director, loves to make announcements.
She announces things that are in the daily Patter and there should be no need
to interrupt people’s days with that. She made one early this morning and again
later in the day. The worst timing was during dinner when she came on to tell
us what was going on in the evening. It’s in the Patter and quite annoying to
have these frequent announcements. Normally, the only announcements are the
Captain and the Bridge speaks briefly when it’s noon. Otherwise there are none
unless there is an emergency or a whale or dolphin siting. So, it’s annoying to
have these announcements because most of us think it’s something “important”
and it’s just telling us what we can read in the Patter. One of the biggest
complaints of some of the cruise lines is the frequent announcements, which is
why some of us cruise certain lines instead of others. (of course, there are
other reasons as well)
The entertainment tonight was David Crathorne with another great
performance.
I have added a few more photos to my Web Albums site. The
internet has been really slow the last couple of days. I added Taiwan and then
realized I need to pare down the number of photos for each port and I will put
the full albums up after we return home. So, I have also added some for Hong
Kong to Xian, Terracotta Warriors and Pandas at Chengdu. Tomorrow, I hope to
add Sanya, Singapore and Thailand. That leaves Cochin & Mumbai, India and
the 3 days in the UAE. All of the videos will need to be done once we are home
as well. Greg says they just hang up and won’t upload.
Only 4 more Sea Days before Jordan.
We totally agree with your assessment of Sammi. She was the same way when we have cruised with her several times before. That's her style and like you we don't agree with it being the best! We tend to tune her out and may then miss the one actual important part of the announcement.
