Singapore - Jurong Bird Park & Gardens by the Bay - Day 2 – March 8

We were up early to head to the Jurong Bird Park which is about 20 minutes by taxi. We however took public transport which took us way longer than that which also included quite a bit of walking. There are 2 aviaries and we made sure to go into both of those. We also watched the bird show. We took the tram around and stopped at a few of the stops to get better looks at the birds.

We grabbed a quick lunch before grabbing a cab to our next destination which was Gardens By the Bay. http://www.gardensbythebay.com.sg/en.html

We went inside both of the Cooled Conservatories, the Flower Dome and the Cloud Forest. We also saw the Supertree Grove. The Cloud Forest is not to be missed. It was fabulous! Waterfalls and floor to ceiling (several stories high) beautiful plants and flowers. The Flower Dome was nice too, but we wished we started with it as the Cloud Forest as it would have saved the best for last.

We also walked some of the themed gardens on our way back to the subway.

We stopped to get “ice cream” at the mall and made our way back to the ship to board just in time! It was and icy concoction and quite refreshing with bananas and chocolate syrup on coconut ice.

YUM!
We skipped dinner since we were past our set dinner time and grabbed some food upstairs before going to the evening show which was Pingxin Xu who played a unique musical instrument with around 148 strings and he used small hammers to play beautiful music.

We only have 1 sea day before our next port of Phuket, Thailand.
Tonight, we departed Singapore navigating through the busiest Malacca Strait which is a narrow 432 nautical mile stretch of water between the Malay Peninsula and the Indonesian island of Sumatra. Over 94,000 vessels pass through the strait every year.
