Tuesday October 10th we returned to Weymouth
Woods Sandhills Nature Preserve in hopes of spotting the elusive Red-cockaded
Woodpecker and maybe see the Beavers. We hiked the same trails we did last time
and added another one. We saw lots of birds, but just not our Woodpecker. Lots
of mixed flocks. Lots of Bluebirds, Towhees, Robins, Pine Warblers, Chickadees
and Titmice. Lots of Crows and Blue Jays. There were lots of Red-bellied
Woodpeckers and one or 2 Pileated Woodpeckers, but not our guy. We did see one
new bird today! Don’t laugh, but it’s a Yellow-bellied Sapsucker!

We gave up at 12:30 and headed off to a quick lunch before stopping at Lowe's to buy the grill. The first Lowe's we stopped at had one, but the box was totally bashed in so we left to go to our last option in this area. They had one and it was sealed and looked good! We got the cart for it as well and picked up all the needed accessories since we gave away all of our stuff in Panama. If we were staying in the area the other grills in weird packaging would have been alright, but we won't get to use it until we move to our next stop (so no way to return it) which is Palmetto Shores RV Resort in Summerton SC.
The woodpecker was sure pretty.
