April 16, 2013 Sea Day

We slept in and grabbed a bit of breakfast before heading up to deck 11 to sun bathe. It was Mexican lunch buffet today so we opted for that.

I think I mentioned the Noro Virus spreading thoughout the ship. The night before we left on our overland we were amused by how the cabin steward stocked our bathroom. He left a stack of 3 bars of soap on the sink, an extra box of Kleenex and a totem pole of toilet paper!
Upon our return from the overland, we heard that 23 of the 95 people on the Princess overland had to cancel due to being quarantined due to Noro. We heard that 2 got sick while on the tour.
While they say it is getting better, you still can’t serve yourself in the buffet and nothing is on the tables. In the dining room there are still no baskets of rolls or condiments on the tables. The waiters still use tongs to serve you the roll you choose and they shake the S&P. We also got a paper in the cabin saying that while we are overnighting in Dubai they will do a thorough ship cleaning. During the first day we have to remove everything from the desk and night stands and take down everything personal from the walls. The walls are magnetic and we have lots of clips that hold the daily schedules and tour info etc. We have a large world map on the wall and I have all the magnets I have collected from this cruise on the wall. They said we could just pile it on the bed so they can wash everything down.
There was a port talk for Dubai and then they were showing a production number in the afternoon. Apparently, the female comedian that was supposed to perform on one of the nights we were in Delhi got Noro and couldn’t perform so they put on a production show instead. For those of us on the overland to the Taj, they put it on again for us this afternoon.  Greg started feeling under the weather and missed the last part of the port talk and the show. He skipped dinner as well. The show tonight was a guy we have seen before. Bob Arno was a professional pickpocket and is now billed as being the world’s only legal pickpocket. He has been hired by various government agencies to assist them with catching pickpockets, gypsies etc. He says he does about 60% of his time with law enforcement and the rest on doing these shows. He is hilarious. Before the show even begins he is going through the audience and shaking hands and collecting watches from unsuspecting passengers. He goes on stage and lays them all on a table. Then he brings them on stage to collect them and some get the watch back and he has taken something else off of them or he gets the same watch back. He’s going to do a show later in the cruise on how travelers can protect themselves against pickpockets, gypsies and other groups that use distraction techniques to steal from you.
I went up briefly to the Bollywood deck party, but it was so windy out I came back to the cabin. It would have been nice if they had moved it inside to the Pacific Lounge.
