April 22, 2013 Sea Day

Finally a day to relax. Slept in a bit and tanned in the morning. We had lunch in the dining room. Since it was the start of the 4th (and last) segment of the cruise we had a lot of new people join in Dubai.

Our Cruise Critic Meet & Greet was at 2:00 in the Pacific Lounge and Marianne and I got there early to start setting up. Not a huge turnout, but we did get to meet Hal & Gail. Gail was our poet on our roll call she always posted these wonderfully cute poems about our planning the cruise. It was good to finally meet her. We also have them on several tours in this last segment.
The highlight of the M&G for me was a tall man with his wife asked to the group “we were told there were 4 formal nights on this segment, but there are only 3, have you brought this to the attention of the proper authorities?” First of all, if he came to the meeting thinking Cruise Critic was a place to complain and we could do anything about it….he had the wrong idea. Second, most of us couldn’t stop laughing. I thought he was joking until I saw the look on his face. Those of us that have been on for eons don’t find them that special any more. One comment amongst ourselves was that he could wear his tux anytime he would like. Heck, he can wear it to breakfast if he wants. Someone told him most of us wished there were less. The guy left. It was nice to meet a few new faces.
The singer Sally Jones was performing a concert with all Andrew Lloyd Webber this afternoon and unfortunately it was at the same time as our meeting. ARGH!
We were able to see Iran’s coast in the distance today. It also was the day of the dolphin. Huge pods of them flying high out of the water were seen at least 4 times. We saw them from our balcony and at dinner. Most in the dining room jumped up to watch them.
Came back to the cabin and worked on the blog and before I knew it, it was time for dinner which was formal to welcome the new comers. The show was quite good tonight, it was a production shoe called “Do You Want To Dance”. It was dance crazes throughout the generations.
So, just like that our one sea day to relax was gone…..
Tomorrow we visit Muscat, Oman.
