Sea Day – April 21

Our weather continues to be rough seas. 40 to 50 knot winds with higher gusts. The waves are 15 to 20 feet. A few times I swear we were air-born. It’s definitely “a keep one hand on the ship” kind of day as you walk about. Captain JP also said since we have had to slow down for these conditions we won’t make Bermuda until afternoon and we can’t stay later due to laws restricting coming and going only in daylight hours. So, we may have around 3 or so hours here. We had set up an all-day taxi tour here so I need to email him to let him know of our changes. (and possibility that we may have to skip the port all together.)

All active things have been canceled for today, except for anything that can be done seated like trivia, bingo, etc.

At Bingo today Greg won $65.00 on the coverall. We thought he was going to split it with a lady that also yelled Bingo, but it wasn’t a good Bingo., so he got the full amount. Our collective total is now $2643.00. There is only one more Bingo this Sunday for the $1,000 Jackpot.

Today, there was a Pub Lunch and an Indian themed buffet. We opted for the Pub Lunch. We sat with a couple that said they just saw a small sail boat out here in the middle of nowhere and in this weather. I can’t imagine being in one of those with these swells. They said earlier a wave came up and went over the stack of our ship. Yikes!

The show tonight was a different performance by Evan Bosworth. He’s an excellent tenor and he’s an entertaining performer. His Frankie Valle is my least favorite, despite liking that type of music.

Shortly after his show the Crew talent show was presented. They are always a joy to watch. The crew gets to perform their talents and despite some stage fright they were all very good. There were mostly singers and a guitar player and one band. In between their acts the entertainers put on skits that are also really funny. Despite seeing them many times on ships, they are always fun to watch with the different personalities. After spending so many months with these people, it’s nice to watch them get a bit silly.

The ship is still a bit rocky and may be throughout the night again as well.

We got to set our clocks back one more hour tonight. It’s always nice to get that extra hour. We have one more time change the night before Lauderdale, so we will then be on the proper time for the East Coast.

Tomorrow afternoon we hope to get off the ship for a few hours in Bermuda.
