Florida Grande RV Resosrt

June 2

Well, we had a pretty uneventful short stay here at Florida Grande. (Sorry, Jim!)

It rained a lot and while we did have quite a bit of sunshine, we were in standby mode to get the coach washed and waxed. They got it washed one day, mostly waxed the second day before it rained and then came back the same afternoon to finish the waxing after the rain stopped. It is the last of the "required maintenance" until we sell it at the end of the year.

We didn't really have anything planned for this area other than birding to try and find our elusive Red-cockaded Woodpecker that we didn't find last time. We figured the trails would be soaking wet, so we skipped it.

With my "down time", I have been researching my photo album alternatives.

In testing both photo links I can see the photo albums, but no one else can. I knew with Google Photos that each album needs a personal invite to each and every person individually, unlike with Picasa where you could just post a link in the blog and anyone can see all of them. Picasa Archive worked for a while, but Google no longer supports Picasa and while the old albums are still visible, they locked all of the new ones I have added. (South America & beyond…..) So, right now I have no solution. I’m looking at transferring everything to Flickr, but that will be a time-consuming project. So, still looking at alternatives. I’m looking at tools that can move them over easily in less time, so we’ll see what I come up with.
The best solution at this time is to stay with Google Photos. Those with the link can still see all the old albums there, but everything from South America on will need links. I did find a way to get a link to each album and I will post it on the blog for those that want to see larger photos, or the ones I don't include on the blog.
I w ill go back and post a link for each port of South America & beyond, but for ease I will also post them all here. So, going forward I will include the link in each post.

On the drive to Florida Grande, a poor tree frog must have been stowing away somewhere and we saw him on the drivers side mirror. Poor guy was hanging on for dear life. He worked his way out to the very front (where the most wind hit him) and then finally found his way to the mirror part which was more out of the wind. There were times he was literally hanging on with just one suction cup on one of his feet. (bending him over backwards) He managed to get back with all fours on the mirror. then, he made the worst decision of his life. Apparently, it seemed like a good idea to try and jump from the mirror to the side window...….I just hope he landed safely as we was blown right away before reaching the window. Yeah, I'm sure that's what happened......
We now have 3 nights here in Tallahassee (Florida's Capital).
