June 19
We visited 2 different areas of the Hoosier National Forest. In the morning we visited Indian-Celina Lakes area. When we got there we heard about 20 young girls all shrieking at the tops of their lungs. We looked at each other and said, hopefully they are getting on a boat. Phew! They were waiting for their canoes to be delivered.

Rickenbaugh Home
Our trail started at the Rickenbaugh Home in the forest. We heard a ton of birds here, but they weren’t easy to find.
We did the Interpretive Trail & parts of the Two Lakes Trail. We did see a
deer as we were coming off the trail to walk back to the car via the road. The
birds were easier to see along the road.

The closest food was at Leopold which was a tiny town and we
joked that the restaurant was in someone’s house. It was back roads all the way and a
neighborhood/small town. Sure enough, we found the restaurant and the food was quite
tasty. There was another building across from the town park that housed the
post office and a country store.

After lunch we stopped at one other area in the Hoosier
National Park called Tipsaw Lake which was geared more towards “beach” and lake with lots of
families enjoying the cool water on this hot and steamy day. They were probably the smart ones.
