We had a nice sunny drive to Billings. Not a long drive today. It becomes clear why this is “Big Sky Country” as it seems you can see for miles. We also notice that the farms have become ranches with more emphasis on Cattle and Horses. Still, lots of hay fields.
Along the way the signs remind us that we are following the Lewis & Clark Trail.
We arrived at the RV Park and it had a small entry way and there was a coach with a toad in front of us and we had to hang out into the road until they came to move it ahead. We moved forward and unhooked the car and now we are blocking the next RV to arrive. There are only 2 rows with RVs on each side of them here and the spaces are narrow. It’s the first place we have had to back into in a long time. We generally look for pull-throughs whenever possible. The “pavement” to park on is the worst we have seen. It must have gotten too hot and melted with a heavy rig on it as it had deep depressions that we had to make sure the coach was parked just right so the jacks didn’t end up in them.
It wasn’t our first choice of places as our first choice was full. It however does have city water instead of well water and terrific water pressure. The electric power here however is not sufficient so we are managing our usage.
We took a long walk after the fast hard rain was over. The park has a lot of permanent or long term people here and is in an industrial area. The park is small so we walked out to the main road and took a long walk around the area. (not a great neighborhood in general)
the parking lot next to the park had these carvings and old farming equipment
really old cars in a parts shop
Tomorrow, we are off to hopefully find some new ducks.
