July 8
We had our longest haul yet today and the wind and the
blocky roads didn’t help it go faster. (5 1/2 hours and 260+ miles) It was a pretty drive from Wisconsin to
Minnesota. When driving the change of scenery is pretty subtle compared to flying somewhere and getting off the plane where it can be quite different from where you came from. The rolling hills gave way to farms again and then lots of dairy farms and then back to farms again. The fields here in Minnesota don't look very good is some areas. They have had a lot of flooding which has yellowed areas or totally bare areas.

There were no Flying J fuel stops so we stopped at this Amish Place.
We had just passed a couple in a horse and buggy up on a hill. Didn’t have my
camera out so missed that shot.

The Flying Goose Campground is huge and is on a lake. We are
here for 4 nights/3 days. The area is very nice. After settling in we walked
around the park and sat on one of the swinging chairs by the lake.

At out last park our neighbors had a cat. It spent a lot of time outside on a leash. They are from Arizona and are spending 2 months there. I miss the cat since we used to have 4 of them. Most people have dogs and some multiple large ones in some pretty small RVs.
Tomorrow, we are headed out to do some birding.
