Mirror Lake State Park - Baraboo, Wisconsin

June 30

The heatwave continues. We started early, but it was still pretty hot out already. We actually didn’t hear or see that many birds today. We hiked several trails and a few people stopped to see what we were looking at. One was a car that stopped just as we finally got a bird in our sites (Greg on the camera and me with the binoculars) and neither of us wanted to turn around to answer him because then you lose the bird. He finally drove off. Don’t know what people expect us to say when they ask, but they seem quite disappointed when we say birds or name a particular one.

It was a camping site as well and being the holiday week (before and after the 4th of July) there were lots of loud large families enjoying their vacations.

We went for lunch at Edytka's Polish Restaurant in the main area of Wisconsin Dells. We split a sampler platter and even that was way too much food. It was incredibly good and the Polish family that owns it were very friendly.

Tomorrow it is supposed to rain and we are taking a much needed day off.
