Sea Day - February 11

Throughout the day we continued our Westerly course through the Tasman Sea towards Sydney. To the North our track is Lord Howe Island which is an irregularly crescent-shaped volcanic remnant in the Tasman Sea between Australia and New Zealand.

We went down after breakfasts to see Simone the guy that we needed to see for the correct immigration forms, but he was not there. We were told to come back after lunch.

We started packing for our over-land and then went to lunch. After lunch we went to Simone again and were told he was at lunch and come back at 3:00. We said we were busy then and could we come at 2:30? We did and he was still not there.

We went to Bingo as it was the final one where the whole pot goes no matter how many numbers it takes. I won! Almost the whole room was down to needing just one number and then he called my number! I won $950.00!  So, I have won $1,490 and Greg has won $140.00 for a total of $1,630.00.

After Bingo we went back to find Simone for our immigration forms and he was finally there! We now have an 8:10 time and they took one of our forms and said we would fill out the other one on our return in Cairns.

We had dinner and went to the evening show which was a wonderful tenor, Chris Powley with a show called The Voice of Legends. Fabulous show!

We get to set our clocks back another hour to catch up with Sydney time.

So, tomorrow we will do the Bondi to Coogee beach walk which is supposed to have beautiful views. Then we will fly to Cairns and spend the night and the next 3 nights. The next day we will do a tour that includes Skyrail Train, Cable Car, Kuranda, Rainforestation & Wildlife experience. The next day we will snorkel the Great Barrier Reef with helicopter ride (weather permitting on the helicopter) with QuickSilver. The next day we are doing a tour with Billy Tea Safaris which includes the Daintree Rainforest, Cape Tribulation & 4wd Bloomfield Track Day.

So, you won’t be hearing from me for at least 5 days. I’m way behind on photos and hope to have the last 2 ports up tonight if the internet is working well enough. It was really slow earlier, so we’ll see how it goes. They’ll be in Web Albums as I have no time to add them to the blog.

Until next week.......
