Sea Day & Crossing the International Dateline – February 7

While you are enjoying your February 6, we will not have one. Instead we enjoy an extra hour on select 24 days spread out over the cruise. The ship will be on the same time as the port we are in. It just makes it easier to keep on local time.

I walked the track for an hour and there was a subtle up and down motion of the ship. It was just enough that on the “up” your legs told you it was more work. It was a beautiful sunny day that later turned into a cloudy & cooler day.

We didn’t win at Bingo again. What’s us with this losing streak?

We had lunch in the dining room and sat with one of the couples we knew from 2017, our cabin neighbors and a single lady we didn’t know. We went upstairs to get dessert and found that it was a German Buffet. Not sure why we didn’t see that listed in the Princess Patter.

We spent the afternoon working on photos and videos. 

At dinner we got caught up with our tablemates on the 3 port days. They are such a nice couple and very fun to talk with. He had a similar snorkel experience where we had the super fast drift snorkel. He said he wouldn’t do that again. (his was a Princess tour) He asked what we were doing in Cairns for the Great Barrier Reef and I told him about Reef Magic and he was interested in also doing that so I brought down the info on it and the website should they decide to cancel their Princess tour and do the one we are doing. Quite a few of us from the ship are doing that one. We snorkeled with them in 2013 and it was a great set up. 

The entertainer tonight was Tracey Shield doing a Celine Dion tribute. I’m not a fan of that type of music, but thought I’d give it a try. I made it most of the way through the show before she got to a song where she screamed into the microphone until I thought my eardrums would burst and I told Greg I needed to get out of there. I just don’t appreciate the loud screaming wailing type of singing. 

We skipped the party tonight in the Pacific Lounge to try and get the videos and photos done. 

Tomorrow, we have another relaxing day at sea.
