We
had a Cruise Critic Meet & Greet this morning. Unfortunately, it was moved
from the Steakhouse to Sabatini’s and the room was oddly shaped in that it
makes an L and we couldn’t see each other. So, when people talked you didn’t
know who they were. Awkward!
Since
Charles was the one organizing these things and he left the ship when his wife
passed, someone else that was filling in for the person who was going to take
them over for him, but was off the ship visiting friends another person that
didn’t even know what Cruise Critic was tried to conduct the meeting.
It
truly was a train wreck. (Steve & Karen you could have turned this around
with ease) Anyway, I did meet a couple of the people I was looking to meet
before we have tours together and met a lady named Bonnie that our Friends Bob
& Pat live in the same community and said we should try to meet on the
ship. As luck would have it, they were seated at the table next to us at the
meet & greet. We also sat with one of the couples we are touring together
with, so that worked out well. There are only 2 couples that we have not met
yet, so that will be when we meet that morning, I guess. We also met the couple
that recommended the safari company and lodging that I chose to do for our
overland from Durban to Cape Town.
At
lunch we sat with mostly people we already knew and one new couple.
They
moved Bingo to be in the afternoon in the Pacific Lounge so we went up there.
Greg won $50. (my losing streak continues)
After
catching up with Roy & Rondi at dinner, we went to listen to George Casey
an Irish comedian. We hadn’t had a good comedian yet and we didn’t have high
hopes. He was actually very funny.
The
trivia was “before they were famous” where they show photos of stars when they
were young, and you had to guess who they were. We sucked.
Thanks for your vote of confidence. Maybe someone will step forward with skills to run the meetings effectively. (maybe a school teacher..lol) I appreciate the shout out.
