Sea
Day – February 18
I
skipped walking again this morning despite the weather getting warmer. (I
slightly pulled a muscle on Stewart Island and wanted to rest it a bit more)
We
went to Bingo and neither of us won.
We
went to lunch in the dining room and sat with our balcony neighbors and a
couple of other people we have sat with before.
From
there we went to the passenger talent show. Always fun to watch our fellow
passengers put themselves out there. Only 5 people were brave enough to
perform.
After
that the final Bingo of this segment was right after the talent show, but we
didn’t win any of the games. Another regular won the $950 which always makes
the regular players happy that it wasn’t a one-time player swooping in for the
win. Jonny, the bingo caller is getting off in Sydney and he will be missed.
The whole bingo crowd says he is the best caller and is very entertaining. I
pity his replacement if he/she isn’t personable.
Before
we knew it, it was time for dinner. We had a foursome at the table again and
conversation flows easily with Rondi & Roy. We also said goodbye to Yuliya
our assistant waiter since her contract is up. We will miss her. Our waiter is
on for our whole time on board.
The
show tonight was a Variety Show with Mike Votano & Will Martin. Mike does
mostly 60’s music and sings, plays piano and sax. Will is the young tenor (he’s
probably not as young as he looks) and he has the voice of an angel.
We
skipped the trivia since it was James Bond and I’m sure we would know very
little. Plus, we wanted to get organized for our birding tour tomorrow. The
guide knows we are getting off late and said he will be there waiting.
We
also lose Captain Andrea Spinardi in Sydney and welcome Captain JP. From LA to
Sydney we have traveled 9,179 nautical miles.
