Sea Day – February 28
I walked the track and then spent
some time in the pool. With the heat there aren’t many of us that are still
walking. (or they are walking earlier in the morning.)
No bingo today. WTH? (only 1
of the staff calls Bingo and I suppose he was committed elsewhere.)
We had lunch in the dining room with
people that we didn’t know. They just got on in Sydney and are only going to
Cape Town. (the most popular segment of this cruise)
The weather turned cloudy and
rainy, but it cleared up later in the afternoon.
We got caught up with our
tablemates and their tours in Darwin. Everyone had enjoyable days. Our head
waiter came over to the table for the first time since we lost our waitress
(assistant waiter) in Sydney. Our waiter is very good, but he is working extra
hard since they put a young lady that works room service helping him. One night
she disappeared for over 30 minutes. It was a formal night so there were only
the 2 of at the table and we still were about the last ones to leave the dining
room due to the slow service. It’s really hard to get a decent seat in the show
lounge. We had such great fast service prior to this. They say they would have
someone to replace her in Cairns, but they didn’t. Anyway, since she left the
head waiter no longer came by every night.
When he asked how everything
was Greg told him that we missed Yulia. We told him that our waiter is very
good and the new girl is very nice, but of course she is learning and we now
are some of the last people out of the dining room. He said we would have a new
assistant in Singapore. He also said they were short staffed in the kitchen as
well.
We got to the show and got
seats way in the back and I couldn’t see the performer at all. It was Bradley
McCaw and Aussie singer and piano player. Meh……
One more sea day before
Komodo!
